Fueled by a desire to eclipse the current level of technology in the performance aftermarket, RetroTek Speed set foreword a plan to be the first company to offer a complete, retrofit, digital electronic fuel injection system built with the end-user in mind. More than seven years worth of manpower was spent developing its Smart Tune Technology, an ECU that self-learns requiring no laptop computer or engine tuning ability.
With that key component in place, RetroTek went to market in 1999 with a nostalgic Stromberg-style throttle body. It was widely embraced by the consumer and the aftermarket industry, winning Best New Street Rod Product of the Year, along with a prestigious SEMA award for runner-up Best New Product.
EFI was not RetroTek's only revolutionary concept. Its Smart-Shift electronic shift system and wireless F1 Billet Paddle Shifters took SEMA's Best Engineered New Product as well. Now virtually all automatic transmissions can be precisely controlled without traditional shifter or troublesome shift cables or linkages.
Not satisfied to rest on past accomplishments, RetroTek Speed took its retrofit digital fuel injection to its ultimate conclusion, the revolutionary Boss EFI. The Boss EFI is what performance car enthusiasts have dreamed about for a long time, a true bolt-on 4-barrel carb-style retrofit EFI. The vehicle still looks like it has a 4-barrel carb with no fuel tank return lines, fuel rails, or other giveaways that this vehicle is packing EFI. Now classic Musclecar enthusiasts, Street Rodders, Pro Touring cars, G-Machines, Off-Roaders and anyone else who wants the clean single 4-barrel look and performance of EFI can have it at a reasonable price. |
