1-BAR MAP (Manifold Absolute Pressure) Sensor
The MAP Sensor is used to sense the load of an engine and allow the EMS to properly adjust fueling to the engine. 1-Bar MAP sensors are required for all naturally aspirated motors.
Pretend you are driving on a flat road at 50mph and 2500rpm, you may only need to press very lightly on the throttle to maintain this speed and your engine would require very little fuel to accomplish this, then imagine you reach a steep hill, you may need to press considerably more on the throttle to maintain your 2500rpm and 50mph speed. This is because there is a lot more load placed on your engine. The MAP sensor is used to sense this load and provide additional fuel required by the engine. The hose should be 3/16 I.D. |
